MAINTAIN SPIRITUAL FOCUS

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).

 Focus is the concentration of attention, energy, and vision on something. When God tells you to focus, He wants you to be undistracted. One of Satan’s strategies against God’s people is distraction. He seeks to shift your attention away from the eternal realities of God’s Kingdom to circumstances, fears, pressures, and the transient things of life. But we’re not ignorant of his devices.

 The Psalmist said, “The godless spread lies about me, but I focus my attention on what you’re saying” (Psalm 119:69 MSG). What a mindset! In the midst of opposition, accusations, and distractions, he fixed his attention on the Word. That’s the secret of spiritual stability and progress. When your attention is focused on God’s Word, your spirit remains aligned with truth, victory, and divine direction.

The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:18 to look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are unseen. The unseen realm is real, and God’s Word unveils its realities to us. Your physical senses may not perceive them, but your spirit can. Therefore, set your heart and affection on eternal things.

 Proverbs 4:25-27 says, “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee....Turn 54 not to the right hand nor to the left....” In other words, maintain focus. The Apostle Paul exemplified this mindset when he said, “...one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Philippians 3:13). He understood the power of focused vision.

 A double-minded man, the Bible says, is unstable in all his ways and unable to receive anything from God (James 1:8). Instability produces weakness and inconsistency, but focus produces strength, clarity and victory. So, live with steadfastness of mind. Run your race with purpose: “So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I fight to win. I’m not just shadow-boxing or playing around” (1 Corinthians 9:26 TLB).

 Stay spiritually focused on the Lord, on His Word, and on the eternal crown set before you. As you do, He’ll keep you in perfect peace, strength, unwavering prosperity and victory. Hallelujah!

                                                                               PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for your Word that guides and establishes my heart in truth. My mind is steadfast and focused on your eternal realities. I refuse distractions, instability and double-mindedness; rather, I walk with clarity, purpose and unwavering confidence, fulfilling your destiny for my life in joy, victory and peace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
